Audient Sono

Guitar recording interface

Sono combines the award-winning transducer technology of the British manufacturer Audient with the popular speaker-cab simulations of Twonotes and probably the most successful component in the history of guitar amplifiers: the 12AX7 preamp tube. Coupled with uncompromising 3-band tone control, two torpedo modelling power amps and the cab simulations of Twonotes, Sono offers the modern guitarist countless recording and performance options, whether on the home sofa, in the studio or on stage.

With Twonotes' endless creative possibilities, simple ideas can be turned into authentic-sounding riffs, chord progressions and songs in no time. The user is provided with a huge (anytime expandable) selection of speaker simulations based on the great classics of Marshall, Fender, Mesa Boogie or Ampeg. Room type, type of miking and even the microphone itself can be adjusted at any time. Once you're satisfied with the composition of your virtual recording session, you can store up to three presets onboard Sono and use them live in stand-alone mode without a computer connection.

Using the D.I. input, you can also integrate existing pedalboards, for example for reverb, fuzz or overdrive sounds - just select a speaker simulation and you can start recording or jamming right away without the noise of the guitar amp creeping into the recording or annoying your neighbor.

For users who want to record in the more traditional sense, Sono also allows you to record a clean D.I. signal at all times, so you can capture gigs with the option of subsequent creative editing. This allows the guitar to be reamped later by your favorite hardware amplifier, for example, without having to buy a special expensive reamping box.

In addition to all the guitar-oriented features, Sono is of course also a powerful recording interface with the same outstanding sound characteristics and features that have made the popular Audient iD series interfaces (iD4, iD14, iD22 and iD44) the first choice for demanding recording tasks and studios around the world in recent years. For studio recordings, 2 extremely low-noise and low-distortion Class-A console mic preamps are available in unique quality. With the integrated ADAT input, the number of inputs can be extended to a total of 10 (e.g. with Audient ASP800 or 880), so that the appropriate drum kit can also be recorded.

With the unique "to valve" function, you can chase vocal microphones, synths or drum machines through the tube preamp, analog EQ and Twonotes Torpedo software to create crazy new sounds or add classic analog warmth to your recordings.
