Active Nearfield Studio Monitors
Purely analog
The reProducer Audio Labs development team opted for a purely analog signal routing with high-quality components right from the very beginning. Therefore, signal transmission takes place directly and is unadulterated, and DSP compensation is rendered completely unnecessary.
Homogeneous sound
For even sound reproduction, reProducer Audio Labs focused on linear signal response and its temporal and harmonic aspects. As a result, in and out-swing behaviour is balanced across the entire bandwidth. Furthermore, equal material properties of the sound-forming components result in a homogeneous sound, in which all components perform harmoniously, avoiding the need for any artificial DSP compensation.
Down to the last detail
During the Epic 5 development journey, it quickly became apparent that virtually no mass-produced components could be used to implement such an ambitious overall concept. Therefore, after four long years of development work, the reProducer Audio Labs engineers have developed all the individual components and their own manufacturing process for the Epic 5.
The result: Amazing sound and design
The Epic 5s provide a harmonious home to its perfectly balanced components — tweeters, woofers, passive radiators, and amplifier electronics. They have a very elaborate, compact housing optimized for stiffness. The wavefront timing of components is mechanically aligned, so they oscillate in phase and are phase-locked in the relevant frequency range. As a result, low noise guarantees a very high dynamic range – decaying signals, such as reverb tails or fading guitar strings, won't get lost in the noise floor.
