RME presents the Fireface UCX II - the successor of the legendary Fireface UCX. With 40 input and output channels, as well as a multitude of possible applications, the Fireface UCX II marks a new standard for compact professional audio interface solutions in 9.5" rack format. Fitting to RME's 25th anniversary, the UCX II combines a quarter of a century of RME innovations in a groundbreaking interface for flexible studio and live use.for flexible studio and live use.
With up to 20 recording and 20 playback channels, SteadyClock FS, high-performance microphone inputs, parametric EQ, USB direct recording and full stand-alone operation, the new Fireface UCX II embodies the core factors freedom, flexibility and passion. No other audio interface currently offers more connectivity and functionality on 9.5". On the front panel, the Fireface UCX II houses two mic/line preamps in XLR combo format, as well as two line/instrument inputs, each of which can be controlled digitally. Next to them are the headphone input, various selector buttons, the display, and the central volume and selector knobs. On the rear panel there are ten analog balanced line inputs and outputs, MIDI I/O, ADAT I/O, AES/EBU and SPDIF I/O, USB 2.0 and a switchable word clock I/O.
DURec Direct USB Recording
The digital DURec (Direct USB Recording) function lets you record all inputs and outputs of the Fireface UCX II directly to a USB storage device. For this purpose, DURec uses the internal DSP and can thus be used independently - without a computer. There are many possible applications: stand-alone field recordings, concert and rehearsal recordings, or the playback of live recordings for virtual soundchecks.
Clocking in the femto range
With the SteadyClock FS, the Fireface UCX II features the latest clock and jitter suppression technology. Based on a femto clock, SteadyClock FS reduces the inherent jitter of the Fireface UCX II to an absolute minimum.
TotalMix FX & DigiCheck
Included are both the DSP-based TotalMix FX mixer with its comprehensive routing and monitoring options, and the DIGICheck analysis tool, which allows measuring and analyzing the digital data streams to and from the Fireface UCX II with highest precision.
