Versatile cardioid condenser microphone for phantom or battery power

The RØDE M3 is a thoroughly robust and highly flexible condenser microphone for field and home recording as well as professional sound reinforcement. The full metal housing and the basket made of heat-treated steel wire guarantee highest mechanical durability.

The on/off switch has three positions: When pushed all the way up, a high-pass filter is activated at 80 Hz (-12 dB/oct.) to eliminate unwanted subsonic noise already in the microphone. Unscrewing the lower housing sleeve gives access to the battery compartment and a three-position mini-switch that can be used to activate the pre-attenuation if required (-10 dB or -20 dB).

The M3 can be operated either with 48 V phantom power or a 9 V block battery. With a battery, the M3 can be operated for at least 200 hours without mains power. In terms of sound, the M3 features a full frequency response and the gentle presence boost typical of RØDE. Since the M3 is discussed from the front and is relatively insensitive to handling noise, it can also be used as a reporter or announcement microphone.

Included in delivery are a stand clamp (RM3), a foam windscreen (WSM3) and a carrying case (ZP1). The M3 is manufactured by RØDE in Australia. Registered users receive a 10 year warranty.
