Large-diaphragm condenser microphone with continuously adjustable directional characteristic

With the NT2000 from RØDE you get a microphone that is unique in many ways. Its mechanical construction is impressive, with a housing that is as powerful as it is elegant, and its technical features offer the user a wide range of sonic possibilities: the directional characteristic, the frequency at which the high-pass filter is used and the amount of pre-attenuation can be continuously adjusted on the microphone body with three - deliberately stiff - knobs. This is particularly interesting when good or unusual sounding recording spaces are available and a deliberate emphasis is placed on the finest nuances.

With the directional characteristic, the intermediate positions in particular enable special results. If, for example, you turn the potentiometer from the cardioid a little towards the omni, you can increase the NT2000's angle of incidence, and if you turn it towards the figure of eight, you can decide precisely how much of the room is to be transmitted from behind. Finally, the tunable high-pass filter allows you to filter out unwanted sound before the downstream preamp, or to adjust the proximity effect.

The NT2000 is extremely level stable. Even without pre-attenuation, signals up to 147 dB are transmitted absolutely flawlessly - ideal for working with loud guitar stacks, drums and, of course, vocals. Since the inherent noise is sensationally low at 7 dBA, even extremely quiet sound sources can be recorded with high resolution, interference-free and convincingly.

The NT2000 is supplied in an ABS molded case including an elastic mounting bracket (SM2). It is manufactured by RØDE in Australia and registered users receive a 10 year warranty.
