Our ethos

At Audient we believe that quality begins with the first steps of design. Whether we choose the characteristics of a product or the choice of its components, we make every decision with audio quality in mind - a philosophy that has helped us build a community of users in professional and private studios. Since the majority of our team is still active in audio, we have a passion for understanding our customers' needs and are constantly striving to deliver products that make the recording process easier for you.
 

Where it all began

Audient was founded in 1997 by David Dearden and Gareth Davies. Previously, they were founding partners of DDA, a company known in the 1980s and 1990s for building mixing consoles. After selling DDA and developing digital consoles, they decided to stick with their guns and start Audient with the goal of creating a great-sounding, affordable and efficient analog console. One idea they were told at the time was crazy.....

From this idea came our flagship, the ASP8024, a large-format inline analog console known for its simplicity and sound. 20 years later, the original design is still being sold in an improved form known as the Heritage Edition, proof of the original design. The audience has since continued to pursue this innovative philosophy, redefining it in other products such as our award-winning Interface range and Rack Mount Mic Pres.
