With us you simply make music differently
Keyboards were black and white. We bring colors and high resolution into play. Our story started with the Seaboard. A soft, curved playing surface made of pressure-sensitive silicone was the most innovative thing that could happen to a keyboard since 1700. Bartolomeo Cristofori invented the fortepiano and amazed harpsichord players with a new method of sound control.
It all began with the Seaboard
The Seaboard reinvented the possibilities of the keyboard - so much so that it surpassed the piano; just as the piano had surpassed the harpsichord. The Seaboard marks the beginning of a series of instruments that allow musicians to play much more expressively. They now have more sounds and effects than ever before.
Combining digital technology with a new approach to culturally anchored design, these instruments look familiar. But their musical possibilities are light years ahead of those of today's instruments.
Opportunities for musicians
Every year, our touch-sensitive music technology becomes more accessible. Smaller, more entry-level and cheaper tools bring us closer to our long-term goal: giving everyone the opportunity to make music.
What do these tools look like? Just like our devices range from handy drum pads to stage-ready synthesizers, we offer software ranging from free apps to state-of-the-art sound design programs. To make new instruments more accessible, we also need to connect to the tools that musicians already know and love. Our musical touch technology is becoming more and more compatible - so musicians can discover new ways of expression without having to leave behind their current setups.
We develop the future of music
Developing the future of musical expression requires a large team with unbelievably diverse talent. Programmers for C++, electrical engineers, industrial designers, researchers and virtuoso musicians work hand in hand in our offices in East London - and usually have lunch together. From many different perspectives, we all contribute to products that give our customers a whole new way of making music. And many other changes are already in the starting blocks.
