For Tubechild 670, Antelope Audio took a well-preserved Fairchild 670 apart, measured every component from its 20 carefully matched valves to its 14 vintage transformers and recreated all the unique non-linear relationships of its internals in the digital domain. Just like the hardware original, the model runs your signal through every single valve and transformer to build up the characteristic 670 sound. Developed by Rein Narma for maximum level control and first used mainly as a limiter for broadcasting and vinyl cutting, the original went on to shape the sound of The Beatles at Abbey Road and can be heard on records from Pink Floyd and Motown to modern pop, rock and metal. Tubechild 670 adds warmth, thickness and tube character to any source, firmly grips transients and glues a mix together.
