Filtek Mk3 is a versatile three-band EQ equally suited to surgical applications, broad sweeps and tone-shaping experiments, thanks to its generous set of controls for each band.

The hardware original was designed in the 1970s to meet the rigorous standards of the IRT (Institut für Rundfunktechnik), first serving in the broadcast studios of the most reputable radio stations before its versatility and analogue character took it into the racks of top-tier recording facilities around the globe. This clear and precise EQ not only corrects but also enhances: you can boost the high end without adding harshness, and it packs plenty of punch when pushed harder. Each of the three bands offers 12 frequencies with up to 16 dB of boost or cut and a three-way Q switch that bypasses the band in its mid position, complemented by high- and low-pass filters. The parallel EQ signal path mixes the dry signal with the additional cut or boost of each bell filter for unique tone-shaping possibilities.
