Memory Cat Brigade is a bucket brigade delay that combines the best of tape and analogue units, with a smooth high end and an organic overall sound.
Tape and analogue delays have been favoured by engineers and producers for decades for their warmer, more natural sound: both roll off the low and high frequencies, which helps them sit better in the mix. The model is the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man from 1980, which produced tape-like echoes using capacitors instead of magnetic tape; Antelope Audio measured and recreated every component of the original circuit following its schematic. The result is dark, lush delays, a vibrant pitch-shifting vibrato and a rich, spacious chorus, plus bonus features such as delay times of up to 1100 ms and a Filter knob for even darker echoes.
