VEQ-1A recreates a two-band tube EQ that has been a studio staple for over 60 years, prized for its massive analogue bass and silky smooth high end.

VEQ-1A gives you flexible control over the low and high end, with low shelving and broad-bandwidth peak control. Its special feature is the simultaneous boost and cut of the same frequency – the so-called Pultec EQ trick – which lends the sound a character of its own. The model recreates the original blue tube unit, built from 1961 to 1971, down to the details of its analogue design. It is equally suited to individual vocal, drum, guitar and synth tracks and to fine-tuning full mixes.
