VP Gate Keeper II is a VCA gate and expander plug-in that cleans up recordings from unwanted artefacts without affecting their musicality and breathes new life into flat-sounding tracks.

Unlike typical noise gates that simply switch on and off, VP Gate Keeper II also covers the grey areas in between, combining fast response with a clean sound. Its Logarithmic Release mode protects the falling tails of gated material and retains the integrity and musicality of the signal even in extreme settings. It is inspired by the Kepex II, an early 1970s unit based on the Valley TA-101 VCA that was found in hit-making studios around the world and helped shape the drums of 1970s and 1980s pop and rock. The plug-in is operated with familiar Threshold, Release, Range and Output controls.
