X904 is a gate and expander plug-in inspired by a classic 1980s dynamics module, designed for precise envelope control and creative rhythmic shaping.

X904 delivers fast, transparent gating to clean up drum recordings, remove noise or add rhythmic precision to performances. Its VCA-based design ensures lightning-fast response and smooth transitions between open and closed states, maintaining the natural transients of the original sound. With switchable sidechain filtering and an adaptive release mode, X904 goes beyond traditional gating, serving as a creative sound-shaping tool as well as a surgical noise suppressor. Antelope Audio carefully measured a preserved unit of the original, the gate/expander that complemented the 902 and 903 modules and became essential in drum mixing and live sound engineering.
