A virtual instrument of electronic textures built from electromagnetic interference, vintage analogue synthesisers and ultrasonic recordings, for soundscapes, basses, pads, leads and effects.

Pripyat is Mntra’s first foray into synthetic textures, gathering brutal electromagnetic interference normally inaudible to the human ear, both in its pure form and re-amped through various acoustic resonators. It adds warbling vintage analogue synthesisers processed through guitar pedals and Eurorack modular effects, clamorous ultrasonic recordings of dry ice on a rare Marimbaphone and a Bombo drum, and further percussion sounds. Within the MNDALA 2 engine this material expands into deeply textured soundscapes as well as synth basses, pads, leads and effects, with 60 presets by experienced sound designers to get you started. An interactive animated scene inspired by retro Soviet poster art controls the complex parameters in real time, so you can play Pripyat like a physical instrument.
