A virtual instrument created with artist SNAKES OF RUSSIA that makes his dark, apocalyptic sonic palette of modular synths, heavy analogue subs and gritty drums playable.

Tenebrae is the first entry in Mntra’s Artist Series, created with LA-based artist Joseph Holiday, alias SNAKES OF RUSSIA: complex modular synth patches, heavy analogue subs and gritty drum samples, as well as screeching bowed instruments and noisy percussion, were processed through chains of rare outboard gear and tape. Using the MNDALA 2 engine, SNAKES OF RUSSIA designed 79 bespoke artist presets, joined by 70 Elements presets and 27 Atelier presets to get you started. Two exclusive effect processors model his signature signal chains: BESTIAE, with destructive filters, drive and compression in parallel or series, and DIRTY BUCKETS, a series of gritty bucket brigade delay-based reverbs that let you shape the sound dynamically in real time.
