Mariana is a dual-layer software bass synthesizer from Moog Music, designed for the modern production environment and capable of reaching the deepest depths of low-end tone and weight.

Mariana draws on the lineage of classic Moog bass instruments such as the Minimoog Model D and Minitaur: each layer is built around two oscillators plus a sub-oscillator, two resonant Moog filters and a third filter dedicated to the sub-oscillator shape the sound, and stereo oscillators with crossover filtering widen the image while preserving a solid mono bass foundation. Tube, tape and overdrive saturation, a compressor with real-time metering and delay and chorus effects on each layer cover the whole bass chain without loading additional processors. With three LFOs, three envelopes and two random generators per layer plus a deep modulation editor, nearly every parameter can be modulated via MIDI, MPE and virtual CV – including interaction with the Moogerfooger Effects Plug-ins. The 200 included presets were designed by Moog’s in-house team and artists such as Kyle Hall, Erin Barra, Bad Snacks and Lisa Bella Donna, and show that Mariana also handles leads, percussion and effects.
