Ten experimental stringed instruments by master instrument inventor Bart Hopkin in one library, including the Stroked Zither, exclusive to this collection.

Chordophones brings together all of Soundiron’s Hopkin string instruments released so far – Alt Alt, Aquaalt, Handsome Dan, Icicles and Pop Ice, Squiggly-Amejewar, Weighted Strings and 2+2+1 – plus the brand-new Stroked Zither. Made of wood and steel, bass strings, Styrofoam, water and rubber, each instrument has its own organic tonal character, was recorded with multiple microphone positions and is ideal for blending together or doubling a melody. Plucks, staccatos, bowed sustains, glisses, percussion and effects, hundreds of ambient soundscapes created from the source material, more than 150 FX presets and an efficient modular four-layer interface provide plenty of inspiration.
