Thanks to its clear layout, Hive 2 is quick to work with yet offers plenty of depth: three switchable synth engines, wavetables that can be split into up to 16 tables, four interpolation methods and custom wavetable scripts in the UHM format. The four-lane shape sequencer creates complex modulations and rhythmic patterns, the function generators combine envelope, LFO, slew limiter and gate, and the arpeggiator and step sequencer can record note sequences in real time. The 12-slot modulation matrix even lets you modulate effect parameters, and seven re-arrangeable effects from distortion to compressor round off the sound.
