At the heart of Lector is a stereo vocoder with 3 to 100 bands: the analysis filter bank splits the incoming signal into as many as 100 frequency bands, whose levels control the same number of band-pass filters in the synthesis filter bank via envelope followers with adjustable attack and decay. The integrated synthesizer or an external source serves as the carrier, letting you apply a melody line or chord sequence to vocals or speech. The Waldorf multimode filter, a whitening filter for choir and voice recordings, a three-band EQ and an effects section with overdrive, chorus/flanger, delay and reverb shape the sound. Lector is equally suited to heavily processed vocals, subtle harmonies for lead vocals and creative effects for film soundtracks.
