A collection of five premium wood-shell snare drums for BFD3, chosen for their warm, fat and round sound.

Made by Canopus, Craviotto, Gretsch as well as Noble and Cooley, the snares differ in wood, shell thickness and depth, from maple and cherry to elm, walnut and zelkova, and cover metal, hard rock, rock, pop, funk, jazz and other genres. Each snare was played with sticks, captured with wires on and off and delivered in a natural version and two processed, mix-ready variations that emphasise the transient attack for cutting through dense walls of guitars and add oomph to crisp snare rolls. Two top mics, one bottom and one side mic, mono room, room and far room ambience channels and two stereo reverb channels offer plenty of mixing options, and you can combine the snares with other drums from your BFD library to build your own kit.
