The large stereo power amplifier takes even the most demanding speakers to worlds of sound never heard before. With an amplifier power of 2 x 520 W (4 Ω) [2 x 550 W (2 Ω); 2 x 300 W (8 Ω)], this pure analog power amplifier easily controls any speaker.

Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the s1200's performance is detailed, lively, honest, and of musically superior sound.

Customize
In addition to choosing the base color of black, red or silver, there are other ways to customize the Performer s1200 to suit individual design preferences.
The black, red and silver trim panels included in the scope of delivery can be used to create your own color combinations.
The trim panels adhere with the help of a strong neodymium magnet. So no tools are needed to change them.

Safe is safe
The Performer s1200 has a protection circuit against DC voltage and one against overheating.
If DC voltage is detected, the output stage of the s1200 automatically switches off and the Protect LED lights up red.
To protect the Performer s1200 from the unlikely event of overheating, a temperature sensor on the heat sinks continuously monitors the temperature of the unit.
The TEMP LED will illuminate yellow when the Performer s1200 becomes too hot. As a result, the output stage shuts down and the fans run at high speed to cool the unit.

Free selection
The Performer s1200 has one stereo pair each of XLR and RCA inputs. This makes it compatible, without the use of adapters, with all preamps on the market. The corresponding stereo input can be selected via the Input Select switch on the rear panel.

Trim yourself fit
In reference to the Performer s1200, "fit" means - as in English - adjusted.
And you can adjust the input sensitivity in 0.5 dB steps. From 0 dB to -5.5 dB.
Unlike a panorama potentiometer in a preamplifier, this is the audiophile solution, for acoustically problematic rooms or speaker setups. The optimal working range of the loudspeakers and preamplifier can also be ideally adjusted in this way.

Strong connection
The loudspeaker pole terminals can accept both banana plugs and a stranded wire with a diameter of up to 4 mm. Thus, any common type of speaker cable can be used. However, we do not recommend connecting a speaker with less than 2 ohms impedance.

Trigger Mich
The standby mode of the power amplifier can be switched on and off using the AMP CTL connection between an SPL Professional Fidelity preamplifier, such as the Director Mk2.
To do this, connect the 3.5mm phone jacks to a cable with 3.5mm mono or stereo phone plugs. Preamps from other manufacturers can also switch the Performer s1200's standby mode on and off thanks to its 12 V trigger input.

Plays in its own class
Conventional solid-state power amplifiers quickly operate at the limits of the components used. Unsightly distortion results. Tube power amplifiers also distort in this limit range, but this is expressed by a rather softer recorded sound image.
Thanks to VOLTAiR technology, the Performer s1200 can handle much higher levels than regular solid-state or tube power amplifiers without distortion. All components operate continuously in the optimum working range. The result is a very pleasant, natural and relaxed sound experience. Enjoy your music in every detail - without listening distractions.

Full power ahead
In the Performer s1200, separate voltage and power amplification stages ensure a stable operating point for the amplifier circuitry, which uses Class AB technology.
Thanks to each stage's own negative feedback path, feedback effects from the loudspeaker to the input stage are also eliminated. This allows the SPL VOLTAiR technology to show its full performance.

Keeping a cool head
Inside the Performer s1200, the six fans are usually not working at all, because 90% of the heat is passively dissipated via massive heat sinks.
However, should it get really loud for a long time, the processor-controlled fans remain virtually inaudible at only 19 dB(A).
When the Performer s1200 is switched on, the fans briefly rotate at a higher speed to remove dust from themselves and the surrounding components.

Sounds good!
With all devices of the Professional Fidelity series we develop from the outset not only according to plan, but also by ear. All basic components are installed on the circuit boards using THT technology. This way we can ensure that we can install the components that sound the best.

120V VOLTAiR Technology
The operational amplifiers developed by SPL operate at a DC voltage of +/- 60V, four times the operating voltage of IC semiconductor operational amplifiers. This enables a dynamic range of 141.4dB, THD+noise of -114.2dB and headroom of 33.2dB.
